The Essential phone is the new Android smartphone phone made by the father and co-found of the Android operating system Andy Rubin. An Android phone that promises to deliver everything we’ve always wanted in a smartphone e.g. speed, good looks, and performance.
Andy Rubin has announced his new company called “Essential” and simply calling their first flagship the Essential Phone, or the PH-1.
So what new about the essential phone and what others it has to offer.
Well surprisely nothing much nor new, but first let have a key look at the key specs and features.
Essential Phone Key Specification
From the specs Essential phone comes with a 5.71-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1312 pixels by 2560 pixels. Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor 1.9GHz, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage (cannot be expanded).

Essential Phone Features
- Magnetic modular connector which will come with a 360 camera.
- The Essential Phone offers a titanium body, which is better than aluminum and metal devices in terms of durability.

Others Things you should know
- The essential Phone lacks the essential headphone jack.
- Also if you take your essential Phone swimming with you, you will essentially kill it.
Seeing the specs the features, I don’t see how the essential phone better than the Galaxy S8 nor LG6 nor HTC11. It just a grab bag of ideas borrowed from other OEMs’, though with different implementations. For the price I don’t see reason why Andy Rubin decide to take away the headphone jack, also does not support for water and dust proof. Speaking of price the phone will cost $700 and may be release in a month time.
Generally the essential phone is a gorgeous phone with an awesome design, but I don’t think it will challenge the IPhone as other top manufacturers have tried and failed. But so far, since it a new phone we are yet to know about the OS experience. Which will be the biggest factor in terms of the phone and a chance for it to make a difference from already available flagship. Rubin also said in interviews that the Essential Phone will run a version of Nougat 7.1.1 that’s “pure as the driven snow, with no bloatware or customized interface,”
